Vélo is the French word for bike. Four years ago I biked 5000 miles by myself, carrying all my gear. I went into Canada half way across the US and biked through Ontario and Quebec before returning to the US. In Quebec they have a great biking organization, Vélo Quebec, that has mapped their province for bikers. I’m naming the first cache I place in Helena "Vélo Helena", or Bike Helena.
Last Fall I moved to Helena and hadn’t done much caching since. Recently I discovered there are several caches along my bike route and began caching while biking, then decided to hide one myself along the route. I actually hid it while biking and caching. I had a ready made cache I won at Helena’s last chili cook off and am using it. Its a small plastic container. I’ve camouflaged it and added some small trade items. Please only put small items in the cache or it will become over stuffed. Please also be careful to close all four sides until they click so it won't get wet and replace it exactly as it is.
If you approach the cache from above rather than below you are less likely to attract the curiosity of passing traffic. You can get very close to the cache either by bike or car. If you come by car you can park at N46*29.812 W111*57.479. Happy caching.
