This is one of a series on Churchill Island & surroundings, ideally suited to cyclists – Phillip Island has very good bike tracks and ample parking is just down the road at the Tourist Information Centre. Churchill Island is inaccessible from 5.30pm to 9am, so plan carefully and double-check signboards to ensure you don’t get locked in overnight! Access to the walking tracks (& the caches) is free; however there is a charge if you choose to enter the visitor centre & historic settlement.

a = the digit most frequently appearing on the plaque
1b88 = the bicentennial year
c = the day the plaque was unveiled
x = the number corresponding to the last letter after Stephen’s name
y = half the month when the plaque was unveiled
z = the difference between the numbers corresponding to the 2nd & 3rd last letters after Stephen’s name
