Richard Burns tunnettiin nopeasta, mutta tarkasta ja virheitä karttavasta ajotavastaan. Esimerkiksi tämä ulosajo oli Burnsin ensimmäinen keskeyttämiseen johtanut onnettomuus MM-ralleissa lähes kahteen vuoteen. Maailmanmestaruustaiston kannalta ulosajolla saattoi kuitenkin olla ratkaiseva merkitys, sillä Burns hävisi lopulta maailmanmestaruuden Marcus Grönholmille vain viidellä pisteellä. Tosin jo seuraavana vuonna hän valtasi maailmanmestaruuden itselleen.
Burns menehtyi aivosyöpään vuonna 2005 vain 34-vuotiaana. Burnsin peräänantamattomuuden ja optimismin inspiroimana seuraavana vuonna perustettiin hänen nimeään kantava säätiö, The Richard Burns Foundation, tukemaan muita vakavien sairauksien kanssa taistelevia. Kätkökuvauksessa annetut koordinaatit osoittavat vauhdikkaan suoran varrelle Juupajoen erikoiskokeen puolivälin paikkelle. Kätkö on luonteensa vuoksi ohjesäännnöstä poiketen sijoitettu yli kahden mailin etäisyydelle näistä koordinaateista (Täällä maalla se ei ole niin nokonuukaa

This cache is placed exactly on the place where Burns drove off the road in Rally Finland 2000 and the mystery is to find out the coordinates of this place. To make the task easier, two last numbers of the coordinates are:

Richard Burns became known of his fast, but accurate style of driving. For example, this accident was his first accident leading to retirement nearly in two years in the world rally championship races. With respect to the championship title race the accident may have been crucial, as finally Burns lost the championship for Marcus Grönholm with only five points. However, in the next year he was crowned the world champion.
Burns died of brain cancer in 2005 at the age of 34 years. Inspired by the determined and optimistic character of Burns, The Richard Burns Foundation was established in the next year to support and inspire others who are living and battling with cancer and other serious conditions. The coordinates given above point along a very fast straight on the middle of the Juupajoki special stage. However, against the instructions, the cache is placed over two miles apart from these coordinates (It is not so strict here in the countryside )
The distance to the cache is, however, under ten kilometers.
