WHO, would have guessed, that IN this small town, Iowa?? IN this Village, John Froelich built the first gasoline tractor that propelled itself backward, as well as forward.
Far reaching in it's effect on Modern Agriculture History, it moved out of this Village and into the World in the 1800's.. Later that year, Mr. Froelich joined with others in Organizing the Waterloo Gasoline Traction Engine Co., which later became the John Deere Tractor Co. 
NOTE: AN ANNUAL EVENT TAKES PLACE HERE EVERY YEAR. The Annual; "FALL-DER-ALL", event is for "Family fun the last full week-end of September. The sites available during "Fall-Der-All"; Froelich Meseum, The 1890's Village of Froelich, 1892 Froelich Tractor invented, Iron Clad General Store, 1920 Freight Depot & Warehouse, 1866 One Room School, Blacksmith Shop, and a Railroad Depot. And much, much more, in this tiny little village.. GO and see this event!!! Bring your camera, or you'll miss a chance for some GREAT pictures..
