É aqui que a Ribeira Grande tem a sua nascente, sendo a linha de água com maior caudal do Concelho.

The Secret of Dark Mount
In a central point of São Miguel, at 889 meters, with most of the island under our feet, the silence is absolute; we feel the power and the voice of the island.
With a turned and lush landscape, the vegetation is rich and varied, it becomes velvet with infinite shades of green… the view is indescribable.
It is here that the Ribeira Grande has its source, the line of water with higher flow of the Municipality.
