Geocache Description:

Large cache container contains log and pens along with tons of trade items. Cache contains a small monetary prize for the FTF...

Cache is placed in a rest area off Rt. 11 close to an old cemetery. The majority of the 20th century, SCI State Prison was Retreat State Hospital which housed many troubled individuals. As of 1988, this facility was turned into SCI Retreat State Prison in Hunlock Creek. Starting around 1933, some of the patients from the state mental hospital were buried on the hill at the rest area on Rt. 11. The cache is above the hallowed ground, so you will not have to enter the cemetery. Cache is about 600 feet from parking area, up the hill. Pretty good climb, but should be an easy find once on top. Please replace cache as good or better for the next cacher. Thanks to Metallica for the song (1986). Enjoy.
