Compass Gardens is a newly created area of informal parkland for the town of South Woodham Ferrers. The park has a maritime theme and includes some maritime artefacts. The gardens have been laid out in the form of a ships sextant and include features such as a compass, latitude and longitude coordinates and ships anchors. The gardens were officially opened on 13th July 1996.
