Witton Gilbert (pronounced 'Jilbert') is a village and civil parish in the City of Durham, County Durham, England. It is situated to the north-west of Durham.
The village once had a railway station on the Lanchester Valley Line, but this was closed in the early 1960s, with passenger service withdrawn in the late 1930s. However, the station building survives as a private residence, along with one of the platforms.
Sitting in a garden in Witton Gilbert is a sight you wont see every day, I have been trying to work out how to get him into a cache for a while now, he is actually quite famous among the local residents especially the children, and changes his "clothes" on a weekly basis, this one is not the original as his twin was stolen and there was a write up in The Northern Echo about him...this new one is smaller than original but still a sight to see!!
Go to the above coordintes The White Tun Pub car park
Walk to the following coordinates to find the character (you could tell me in your write up what he is "wearing" this week)
N 54 48 427 W 001 38 081
Answer the following question
What number door does the character live at?
Parking for the final cache is at
N 54 48 155 W 001 38 131
The final cache is at
N 54 48 0 (A) W 001 37 8 (B)
A = The door number x 2 and plus 7
B = The door number plus 1
The final walk is in a lovely area, if you get beter coords than me please let me know my GPS batteries ran out LOL
Have Fun !!
