Geocache Description:

This is in the grass on the Tipton Old Town Square, due to the ditch on the street side I listed it as a 2 on difficulty. It is flat on the opposite side of the fence. Can be accessed from either side. but is closer on the rougher side.

This cache is located in the "Old Town Square", owned by the City of Tipton. William Tipton Seeley was the founder of Tipton. In 1817 The United State Congress passed a Pension Act which gave land to the soldiers that had served in the army. This was done because they did not have any money, but they did have lots of land. Seeley was granted land signed by President Franklin Pierce in 1845. He later received two more signed by President James K. Polk. Seeley was able to buy other land grants from other soldiers that did not want to live in this part of the country.
The cache is a black Micor-Cache Capsule (3/4" x 2"). There is only room for the log so bring your own pencil BYOP. This can be accessed from either of two city streets, or you can go in to the town square property, but that is a bit further walk to the cache than to drive to it on the street. It is down in the ditch and about 10 feet from the street. This should be a quick and easy stop and grab. Thanks to the Mayor of Tipton for the permission to place this cache - check out the city web site for more information. tiptonmo.com
