M/T Oil Transporter are currently moored in the harbour of Riga. She is bound for Örnsköldsvik in Sweden. The terminal/shipper are soon coming to the ship with the cargo papers. The most important document is the Bill of Lading (B/L). The independent surveyour has just taken the ullages from the ships tanks. After consulting the tables the surveyour and the ships Chief Officer (You) agrees about the ships figures.
Gasoline:
TOV = 8834,839 m3
Free Water = 46 L
Temp = 22,0 deg celsius
VCF = 0,9911 according to Table 54B
Density = 0,7214 t/m3 in vac @ 15 deg C
Gasoil:
TOV = 2202,606 m3
Free Water = 169 L
Temp = 22,5 deg celsius
VCF = 0,9937 according to Table 54B
Density = 0,8428 t/m3 in vac @ 15 deg C
Now you must finish the calculations by making an ullage report before the Shipper is coming.
B/L figures Total = 8161,216 mt in vac. If the difference is more than a few kilos you must issue a protest.
