This is an easy cache in the most popular neighborhood in the big
J, the German Colony. Lots of coffee shops to relax before/after
the cache and from the cache site you’ll see a park for
children. I highly recommend walking around this section of the
neighborhood, the architecture, culture and atmosphere is unique
here.
This is a two stage Multicache.
Stage One:
At the location of stage one you can find the final coordinates for
stage two, as follows:
Find the 40 X 15 box array (600 boxes) count over 2 columns from
the right side and up 3 rows from the bottom. The two least
significant digits (LSDs) =EF.
With the same 40 X 15 box array count over 4 columns from the right
side and down 11 rows from the top. The two LSDs =GH.
For the optional fun part of the cache, the combination lock code
is as follows:
Find the 40 X 15 box array and count over 13 columns from right
side and down 11 rows from the top. The two least significant
digits (LSDs) of the box = AB and become the most significant
digits (MSDs) of the combination lock.
With the same 40 X 15 box array count over 20 columns from the left
side and up 5 rows from the bottom. The two LSDs =CD and become the
LSDs of the combination lock.
But for a combination lock all the digits are significant…
so get it right the first time… ABCD.
Stage Two: The final coordinates (an easy two minute walk from
stage one):
N 31 45.8EF
E 035 13.2GH
The log is on the ground behind some loose rocks, near the corner
of a stone wall. It is across from the memorial and lies directly
"EAST" of it by ~4 (four) meters; (see the hint for an English
translation of the memorial). Just make believe your tying your
shoe if muggles suddenly appear. The combination lock is locked on
a fence about chest height a few feet to the right of the
“memorial”. It has nuts and washers attached to it.
JUST FOR FUN, note the order of the nuts and washers and then
rearrange them. If you drop and loss one or more, don’t
worry, just put back whatever…. The combination lock code
can be changed, so please do not change it! When replacing the
combination lock try to arrange a large leaf or two to block
it’s view from the path (see photo).
In order to log this as a find you must find the log and sign
it.
JUST FOR FUN (Optional):
1. Find the combination lock and note the order of the nuts and
washers. When logging your find, let me know what order you found
!!!
2. Open the combination lock and change the order of the washers
and nuts. Let me know on your log the new order. A close-up/macro
photo of the new order of nuts and washers would be nice.
FYI and hint and as an example: The two MSDs of 1234 are 12 and the
two LSDs are 34. Good luck.
