WaterFall

This location offers some great views of a waterfall and the ill-fated Mokoroa stream bridge.

A bridge use to stand near this spot that made the walk to Maori Bay a little easier for local Waitakere Surfers, rumors abound that surfers from Maori bay destroyed this bridge so the Waitakere Surfers couldn't share the great breaks.

On the night of 6 November 1978 a large explosion was heard up the valley, everyone thought it was just Billy Bobs still exploding again. But no it was the bridge being destroyed.

The cache was placed in the company of a local surfer, who just sniggered when I mentioned the incident.

Anyway whatever happened to the bridge, its still a great spot to visit.

Please be careful with little cachers, as the area has some large drops to the stream below. So be very careful, no need to hang over cliffs to find the cache.
