Geocache Description:

We placed a cache here because for years we drove past this spot on our way to the mountains for hiking and camping and never noticed it. But after stopping and reading the headstone a few years ago we new that more people had to know about it so here it is.

The headstone reads:

This stone was erected is 1875 in the town of Hiram in memory of Daniel Foster who was born in Andover Mass .Jan. 7 1720 to Moses and Eliza B Foster. He settled in Hiram in the autumn of 1774 and died of fever, in the spring of 1782 being the second settler and the first person who died in this town.

There is room for one vehicle to park and there is no need to enter the cemetery to find the cache. It is winter friendly and your gpsr will probably go crazy here so you may need to use your geo-senses. And of course as always please put back as found and enjoy caching.

Congratulations to J&K from Denmark on the FTF Glad you enjoyed it and happy caching.
