Geocache Description:

Slopey

Slopey the Pirate turtle was fierce and brutal. He was not fast on his feet, but legendary with his sword. He took many a man down by the ankles. He and his anthropomorphic crew sailed the coast of the Outer Banks, sinking many ships, and pillaging ruthlessly. Slopey always kept his gold in a safe place where only he knew the location. He had a weakness for the Rum though, and from time to time he would blabber a hint to one of his crew.

One day he attacked a ship that was more than his match, and was mortally wounded. He and his crew barely got away. The next morning his crew woke to find him gone. All he left was a note that read:

Captain Slopey in his wounded state, did not notice drops of his blood had fallen on the parchment blurring out the last digits of both the coordinates! Luckily for the crew each of them knew enough that when they combined their knowledge they had the coordinates to his stash. When they arrived, the mighty Pirate Slopey was dead. Instead of burying him with his gold, they did what most pirates would do: they took all the gold and left his body for the buzzards! His crew did not know he had made a deal with the Devil. The deal stated that when he died he must have enough gold to pay his way out of Hell. The Devil, being tired of torturing souls, and in need of funds to install a flat screen in his penthouse, made a deal with Slopey. If he could get enough gold back into his stash, the Devil would forgo their deal. So Slopey's ghost was free upon the world, and sought revenge on his crew. He tracked them down over the years, and sent them to their graves. His blood lust was satisfied, but he was still short on gold. Legend has it, that his ghost still roams the Outer Banks searching for more gold to put in his stash.

Slopey Yar
Can you help put Slopey's soul to rest? You can remove his curse by adding gold to his stash. If you want to find his final resting place you must first find the coordinates. His crew were the last to know them and each of them have only a part.

If ye be a landlubber and can't be getting your footsie wet, there are other Crew members to search for! Though these scalawags only have bits and pieces of the final location and, you'll be needing to find em all to solve the puzzle. Cabin Boy Bessie is said to have left his Cursed Keepsake aboard a shipwreck on land.
The Navigator, Nibbles, hid his Stash before he passed in between two favorite pirate past times.
Ship hand Stinky One Eye left his lunch in a Cove of Pirates! Congrats to Great Scott for the FTF!!!
