Geocache Description:

The best area to park is at N52.35.518 W000.25.550. Please DO NOT PARK in the private drive opposite, which is the start of the foot path. You will NEED pencil and paper as each clue will contain one element to help you find the final cache.
This Multicache involves an enjoyable walk mainly along quiet woodland footpaths. A straight walk takes about an hour so allow a little longer for cache finding and clue solving.

After parking, cross the road and go through the green metal farm gate following the farm track which swings to the right and goes downhill, the footpath continues through a small gate on the left at the bottom of the hill alongside a stream. After collecting the first clue at N52.35.698 W000.25.436, (the additional hint is for this cache only NOT the main one) follow the field edge then turn north up the side of the wood, continue uphill and keep to footpath with wood on your left and fields on your right.
From here the remainder of the caches are along the footpath which encircles Thornhaugh Hall. You emerge from the woodland path over a stile turn left and continue along edge of field. Here you will be among the hills and holes which form one small part of the Grange Farm 4X4 range. Anyone who can persuade their company to organise a corporate do here, which incorporates lots of other great activities will not be disappointed. (no I don’t work there but I have been on 2 of these days and they were great!)
If you’re doing this walk during the week you may also get to see the harriers practising their VTOLs to the north (but only until 9th December 2010 thanks to the cuts)where the RAF Wittering air strip is visible. Another airborne feature is the red kite, frequently seen cruising over this area, of which there are several breeding pairs in the area.
Keep along the edge and pass through the kissing gate and go downhill between deer fencing through the wood, through the next kissing gate and then the footpath is obvious until you get to the houses after the climb back up the slope.
Once you emerge from between some houses, continue along this private road and the footpath turns left before reaching the A47 and follows inside the hedge alongside this road until emerging onto the slip road just before the turn to Thornhaugh. TAKE GREAT CARE at this point where you emerge, Turn left and follow this quiet country lane towards Thornhaugh and your car. The grass verge is at times narrow so please be careful although traffic is light and usually careful and drivers courteous. Please thank them if they slow down and perhaps they will continue to be so.
