A small footpath runs from the A6, at the large Pine Lake
roundabout, to High Keer Bridge on Kellet Lane, following the north
bank of the River Keer. It goes under the M6 and is a
pleasant wander. Shorts are not recommended in the
summer! Nice flowers and no livestock along here.
Geohounds can get an easy dip just by the M6 bridge.
If you can find somewhere to park, starting at the A6 makes for
a better 'line' but the recommended start is at Kellet Lane.
Do this one as a short there-and-back; it's worth the walk and fun
to go under the busy M6. The River Keer is generally a small
and well behaved stream, but it actually drains a surprisingly wide
area and rises to considerable heights after heavy rain. The
high banks are often needed to contain the flow.
Please re-hide well.
