Krypton: As there's been no response to my previous note, I assume that the cache is not going to be repaired or replaced, so I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us, and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it
Thanks for your cooperation!

The home that housed all the original members of the Grateful Dead.
In September, 1966, bankrolled by chemist/LSD manufacturer Stanley Owsley, the Grateful Dead and extended families moved into a communal house situated at 710 Ashbury Street, in San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury, becoming a fixture on the local music scene and building a large fan base on the strength of their many free concerts and 'Acid Tests'. In their early career, the band also dedicated their time and talents to their community, the Haight-Ashbury area of San Francisco, making available free food, lodging, music and health care to all comers; they were the "first among equals in giving unselfishly of themselves to hippie culture, performing 'more free concerts than any band in the history of music' .
It was inside the walls of this house that the band decided to change their names from the Warlocks to the Grateful Dead.
People who stayed there included Neal Cassady, famous as “Dean Moriarty” in Kerouc’s ”On the Road”, Janis Joplin, Jimmy Hendrix and John Perry Barlow.
At the same time, across the street, 715 Ashbury was the headquarters of the San Francisco Hell's Angels chapter.
When Jerry died, Deadheads left a pile of flowers, candles, bears, photos, and other tributes on the steps of the house, which is occupied by ordinary citizens.
There is no need to touch any piece of private property.
Apparently my GPS was still high from its Grateful Dead show. The coords seem to be a bit off. Thanks Zimtastic for some more accurate ones: N 37-46.122 W 122- 26.796
