Geocache Description:

The cache is close to a cave left from the days of mining Alum situated in the beautiful Littlebeck wood.

It is best to park at the village hall in Littlebeck to access this cache. There is an honesty box for a £1 parking fee there. To get onto the path to the woods walk a short distance down the hill, you will see a wooden signpost for a path to Falling Foss. This is the pathway to take.

The pathway is often very muddy though there are decked areas and steps to assist you in the worst places. The path meanders up and down through a gorge and can at times be adjacent to the edge of very steep drops. Please keep a sharp eye on your children.

I have placed more caches in this area and you could link them together for a circular walk of around 8miles. However, you should be aware that the difficulty rating for the terrain varies from cache to cache hence the separate listings. The other caches in the series thus far are:

• The Hermitage
• Twixt Maybeck and Falling Foss
• Old Maybeck
• John Bonds Sheep House
• Valley Views
• Lousy Hill Lane

The cache is a small klick lid box containing a log book, pencil, first to find badge and varied small toys
