This is placed closest to the May Beck car park and so I suggest
you park there. Please note as soon as you cross the cattle grid
from the main road there are sheep wandering on and off the road at
will, likewise along the walk to the cache itself. Take care when
driving and keep your dog on a lead.
Given time and encouragement most children over the age of 3
could manage this walk, bring a picnic and some paddling shoes for
them to make the most of the surroundings. Follow the sign for
Falling Foss from the car park to set you off in the right
direction for the cache, you will be heading downstream and the
steam will be on your left.
I have placed more caches in this area and you could link them
together for a circular walk of around 8miles. However, you should
be aware that the difficulty rating for the terrain varies from
cache to cache hence the separate listings. The other caches in the
series thus far are:
• Alum Cave
• The Hermitage
• Old May Beck
• John Bonds Sheep House
• Valley Views
• Lousy Hill Lane
The cache is a small klick lid box containing a log book,
pencil, first to find badge and varied small toys.
