Geocache Description:

The closest parking for this cache is at Old May Beck. To get on the right trail cross the road and follow the footpath at the left of the stream. This trail will lead you all the way there criss crossing the stream as you go.

Placed with the kind permission of the Forestry Commission.

John Bond was a local shepherd - the stone-walled sheep folds were used for sorting sheep at shearing times and for collecting the flock prior to bringing the sheep down from the moor.

I have placed more caches in this area and you could link them together for a circular walk of around 8miles. However, you should be aware that the difficulty rating for the terrain varies from cache to cache hence the separate listings. The other caches in the series thus far are:

• Alum Cave
• The Hermitage
• Twixt May Beck and Falling Foss
• Old May Beck
• Valley Views
• Lousy Hill Lane

The cache is a small klick lid box containing a log book, pencil, first to find badge and varied small toys.
