Geocache Description:

Cascade Pacific Council - Ft. Vancouver District - This is our Troop's first cache to hide. It's is just off of Scout Camp Road on your way to Camp Lewis. You cannot get to this cache from Lewisville park. The cache is not in the camp but near the entrance.

For 100 years, the Boy Scouts of America has helped youth become more than they ever thought possible. And we’ll continue that journey into the next century.

The Boy Scout program in the US began in 1910 and currently is open to boys ages 11-18. Boys learn and grow through the experiences of camping, hiking, building projects, and community service. Scouting fosters self-esteem, a sense of value and belonging, a sense of accountability, and teamwork. It’s also a lot of fun! The skills learned in Scouting help young men overcome obstacles and challenges with courage and character throughout their lives. Geocaching offers a new opportunity for the Boy Scouts to experience the outdoors while honing their Scouting skills. This cache is placed in honor of all young people in hopes that they will also take this opportunity to enjoy the outdoors.

The Get in the Game! committee of the Cascade Pacific Council is maintaining this cache for people to discover. It is a regular cache that has several superballs, Scout patches, and other fun items for trade. If the cache is low on trading items or geocaching uniform segments please let me know through the account on geocaching.com

In addition to CPCBSA Treasures of Scouting: Boy Scouts, we’ve hidden four other caches highlighting Scouting programs. Find all five! Search CPCBSA Treasures of Scouting on Geocaching.com.

ORIGINAL CACHE NAME On My Honor.
Boondoggleman and Troop 311-
On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law. To help other people at all times. To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.

This is our Troop's first cache to hide. It's is just off of Scout Camp Rd. on your way to Camp Lewis. You cannot get to this cache from Lewisville park. The cache is not in the camp but near the entrance. There is a one way turn around right before the entrance to the camp that needs to stay clear for camp traffic to pass through. No need to enter this gravel turn around. This area is being developed as well and there is a paved road and a paved cul-de-sac to park at that is near the cache and will not block the turn around. Small amount of bushwacking will be needed, so be prepared. We enjoy this camp and all the activities it provides for the scouts throughout the council. There are scout items along with other items to trade.

Congrats to mikewithe on the FTF!!!
