This cache is located near the Nancy Russell Memorial Viewpoint at Cape Horn. (Trail map available here)

This viewpoint honors the late Nancy Russell, to whom all Gorge lovers owe a lasting profound debt. A trophy house once stood on this spot, but Friends of the Columbia Gorge managed to secure the location for future generations to enjoy.
The round-trip hike is approximately 3 miles, with an elevation gain of 500+ feet through a beautiful forest. You may also consider doing the entire loop (7 miles, 1300' elevation gain), which passes several other geocaches. If you are physically challenged (or just plain lazy), you can use the alternate parking coordinates, which will result in a hike of less than one mile round-trip with negligible elevation change.
You are looking for a small plastic Lock-and-Lock container. There is room for very small trackables and trading items (such as geocoins). Please bring your own writing instrument for signing the log. When you close the container, please make sure that the lid is completely snapped shut to protect the cache from the elements, and hide it so that it is not visible. There may be muggles nearby -- if so, please wait to retrieve and rehide the cache so that nobody sees you doing it.
IMPORTANT: There is no need to leave the trail or step on any wildflowers to retrieve the container! If in doubt, PLEASE use the hint.
