Geocache Description:

One should Park as far over on the break down lane as possibly. This is not a highway but a well traveled road

The Following was emailed to me by the Owner of this Sanctuary, on May 26, 2009.

The property is approximately 50 acres in size, and includes a very small portion of Wood Island in Quantabacook Lake, and another small island (islet) about 2 acres in size, also some small outcroppings in the lake. (There is a plan to place a small 8'x10' building on the islet for the purpose of photographing loons and other migratory birds, this is dependant on my next deployment overseas in support of Operation Enduring Freedom). There is a 2.5 acre building lot in the front of the property. (Morrill, Maine Tax Map 1, Lot 2) The property was acquired from Marilyn K. Ismail by Brian J. Converse, with a deed dated 10 September 1999. (Waldo County Registry of Deeds Office, in Belfast, Maine, As a reference, see Book 1938 Page 282 (Marilyn K. Ismail to Brian J. Converse dated 10 September 1999).

The Brian J. Converse Nature & Wildlife Sanctuary (established September 1999)

A privately owned nature and wildlife sanctuary is at the head (north)of Quantabacook Lake along Route 3, this sanctuary includes a small islet (Converse Island) approximately 2 acres (8,100 m2) in size, and a few rock outcroppings in Quantabacook Lake. (Location coordinates: 44.4022, -69.16799)

This is basically a quick park and grab. You can park with in 160 Feet of the cache. Although not much for parking other than beside the road as far as you can , of which I believe to have a reasonable space. If you have little ones, you should just be cautious. There is a snowmobile trail that goes through here.
