From Valdez, go about 100’ past the Rafting Cabin. Park beside the road and look to your left - you’ll see a narrow dirt road. Hike up the road and to the end of the dike. Take the trail to your right. We know your GPS doesn’t want you to go to the right, but the trail switchbacks to the direction that makes your GPS happy. The trail is narrow at the beginning, but you’ll soon be on an old roadbed.
At the coordinates, read how many trucks per day carried supplies to the Army bases. Take the digit in the hundred’s place, add two = X
Now take the last three numbers of the West coordinate and subtract X ( 714 – X = 7YZ)
Your new coordinates are N 61°06.064 W 145°51.7YZ
