Located on open moorland. Terrain is realatively flat, but with steep climb onto Great Ayton moor from Gribdale car park.
Newton Moor comprises a small area lying between Great Ayton Moor and Hutton Moor, and bordering Roseberry Common to the West and Hanging stone Wood to the North.
Access is available from the car park at Gribdale (54.29.453N, 1.05.222W), from the car park at Newton-under Roseberry (54.50745N, 1.12087W) or via Hutton village (54.51776N, 1.07585W)
The easiest route to take is the walk along the Cleveland Way from Gribdale, eventually passing by Slacks Wood to the gate in the wall (54.50664N, 1.09382W). The cache is just a short distance from here.
The cache site provides wonderful views across to Roseberry Topping and the Tees Valley and beyond on a clear day.
