This Earthcache brings you to an area known as Conglomerate Gully, just outside Riddells Creek.
The conglomerates at Conglomerate Gully are part of a unit of rocks known as the Kerrie Conglomerate which is exposed in various parts of the Macedon Ranges. The conglomerates were deposited in a system of broad, shallow, rapidly flowing streams. The Water carried sand and rocks from the nearby highlands, tumbling and shaping then into the smooth, rounded pebbles we find in the conglomerate.
To find out more about this lovely hidden away pocket of beautiful Australia bush you'll need to visit and take the walking track which will be a leisurly 1 hour walk.
Start your walk at S37 27.390 E144 39.090 - this is an information board which will give you all the answers to the questions below.
The walk is well sign posted and is a loop track, one way in, around the loop and then back out on the same track as you went in. It's a lovely walk, quite close to civilization yet very quiet and remote at the same time.
There are logging requirements of course, email the cache owner your answers, DO NOT post them in the log!

History Question : By what year were most of the plains and foothills occupied?
Photo Requirement : at the posted co-ordinates (S37 26.950 E144 38.774) take a photo of yourself holding your GPSr and include with your log entry. This are is quite different from most of the other bush in the area in that it is a clearing amongst quite dense bush.
