Well, this cache was originally planned as the follow up to kloof corner easy over 5 years ago, and at last I have got round to placing it!
This is a difficult hike and is best done as one single hike with Kloof Corner Medium
Please do not attempt this hike unless you are not scared of heights, and are able to pull yourself up chains - the chains on this hike are much higher and trickier than the Lions head chains. Also there is a thinnish crack you need to climb up, so those with a large frame might struggle.
Do not attempt these caches alone, and if you have not already done so, rather try Frodo's Journey, Not for the faint hearted, and Traverse . . . Reverse first, before doing these caches. Please note that Kloof corner difficult is the 1st 5 star terrain cache I have hidden, as I deem it trickier than any of the others.
Please allow at least 5 - 6 hours for the hike. Bring plenty of food and water and do not attempt this cache on a wet or extremely windy day.

The description of this cache starts from Kloof Corner Medium cache (GC1RYEK)
S 33° 57.255 E 018° 23.988
Head back on to the Town side of the cleft, and go a few m down, turn right towards the power lines (when facing town), and traverse across until directly below the power line at Waypoint 1:
S 33° 57.257
E 018° 24.003
Turn towards cliff and head up 6m and to the right to waypoint 2:
S 33° 57.254
E 018° 23.998
Here you will see the second chain to climb. This chain is pretty high, and there is not too much in the way of foot holds, so don't hang around getting nervous and sweaty palms. Be confident, and it doesn't seem that bad, but if you want, you can turn around here and head back down the path and down the 1st chain.
From the top of the chain, head left, and at the next small butress, head to the left/town side of the rocks, and scramble up a few levels, until you get to below the next pole.
Take the path and hop along the rocks to cache site. To get to the cache level, scramble directly up the rock shelf just before cache site, where you will see a large cairn.
Cache is on 12 apostles side of cairn, under large rock. look for the green glass electrical insulator. Be careful not to drop cache down the cracks!
(I apologise that the cache is not better stocked. This is due to poor time mismanagement and misappropriation of resources on my behalf!)
We are not finished yet! one more chain to go! From cache site, head up towards next pole. before you reach pole, follow the 2 cairns to 12 apostles side of the small butress to waypoint 3:
S 33° 57.321
E 018° 24.081
Here it looks like you can go no further, but climb up to rock face on the right until you see the crack on the left, with the chain hanging inside. Head up the chain to the top, and continue until the end of Kloof Corner.
You can now choose if you wish to head to the right around Fountain ravine to the top of the mountain, or left down via india ravine/frodos journey to the lower Cable car station, but don't attempt this route down unless you know it well.
If you are not familiar with the fountain ravine route to the top of the mountain, please take along a guide book with the description.
Remember to bring money in case you decide you want to take the cable car down after an exhausting hike!
Note: Thanks to The Pooks for offering to maintain cache
