Geocache Description:

A Lock-N-Lock cache in the back-woods portion of a park in Libertytown, MD.

One of the things I like about Geocaching is how it takes me to places I might not otherwise visit. In this case, it showed me there was more than I knew about a place I had been to many times before! When the kids were little, we had come here to launch rockets, but never knew there was a large trail system (which can be wet in many places) that lay behind the trees bordering the sports area. Our dog, Misty, enjoyed helping us scout out this location.
The name for this cache comes from a Civil War Trails sign near the entrance to Libertytown Park. As its name implies, this park is nestled near the center of Libertytown, MD. There is plenty of parking.

Libertytown Park amenities include:
• Ball field
• Basketball courts
• Grills
• Picnic shelters
• Picnic tables
• Play equipment
• Lighted Youth ballfield
• Tennis courts
• Trail (12,661 feet/2.4 mi.)
• Volleyball nets
• Multipurpose field (combination soccer/football goal posts)

Cache is a Lock-N-Lock box, 2” x 6” x 8” about 0.25mi away from the parking lot. To coincide with its “Liberty” town location, it contains a Franklin Half-Dollar (with a Liberty Bell on the reverse side) as a reward for FTF.

Congratulations to woodsman2608 on FTF!
