Geocache Description:

Located near St Mawes Castle. This might be quite tough to find without the hint. Best access is to be found south east corner of the Castle lower car park (free parking). There are some rocks that need to be climbed over so put good footwear on. Don't attempt at high water when the sea is rough ! Watch out for muggles especially if weather is nice ! Please ensure you really shove the cache back in and hide well. Cap'n Jack doesn't want it washed out to sea in a winter storm !

Cache has now been upgraded to a large clear waterproof container for extra swag. There is a camera inside so take a snap for my album !

St Mawes Castle

Is among the best-preserved of Henry VIII's coastal artillery fortresses, and the most elaborately decorated of them all.One of the chain of forts built between 1539 and 1545 to counter an invasion threat from Catholic France and Spain, it guarded the important anchorage of Carrick Roads, sharing the task with Pendennis Castle on the other side of the Fal estuary.
