St Mark's Traditional Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions

This cache is a pill bottle hidden near St Mark's Church in Honey
Grove. It has some really fantastic stained glass windows but
they're hard to see with the steel grates covering them. The
cornerstones of the building are really interesting too. You'll
need a pen to sign the log.
From the historical marker:
Church of St. Mark, The
Evangelist, Episcopal - This congregation was organized in 1876 by
the Rt. Rev. Alexander C. Garrett, bishop of the Missionary
District of Northern Texas, and later bishop of Dallas. In 1883,
this building was constructed during the ministry of the Rev. J. P.
Lytton. Of wood frame construction, the Gothic revival structure
features lancet windows and a varnished pine interior with a
cathedral ceiling. It stands as a reminder of Honey Grove's pioneer
heritage.
