Maia Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

bigeddy: The log is still there but had split in two lengthwise, the main section had been turned over, and the signatures were very faded. Five years was a good run and we will leave it to decompose from where it came. Thanks to all who visited shy Maia.

Geocache Description:

One of seven caches in a series based on the Seven Sisters, also known as the Pleiades star cluster. (Note: This series has been archived. Only this cache remains.) Placed for the 7th Annual Pine Mountain Geo-Star Party Campout.

Maia is the third brightest star in the Seven Sisters. In Greek mythology Maia was the oldest, most beautiful and shyest sister. She is often associated with spring and the month of May is named for her.

The cache hunt is a short hike from the campground you can do while pondering the fact that Maia was featured in the children's book Mary Poppins published in 1934, in which the star arrives in England to do some Christmas shopping for the other stars in the Pleiades. Ironically, there is no room for presents or swag in this log-only cache.

Pen provided. Resist the urge to cover the cache, it is meant to be easy.
