An ongoing micro series of hospitals
in the UK...for the poorly geocacher, as there is already
sidetracked for the commuters, and motorway mayhem for the
drivers!
Pembury Hospital is in the process of being regenerated at the
time of placing the micro.
The new buildings are located below the central road, and the old
1938 wartime wards have been demolished.
The new 512 bed hospital, which is 65,000 sq metres in floor area
and seven storeys in height, includes planned and emergency
surgery, orthopaedics, a women and children’s zone, day case
theatres and outpatient services.
The new hospital has risen quickly and is on schedule. The first
patients will be moving in, hopefully at the end of 2010.
