Magnetic nanocache, very easy to find but might be difficult to keep from being observed.
The Traverse Area Recreaction and Transportation trails are a wonderful resource in beautiful Traverse City. All they lack are a few geocaches. So ... this is number 2. As with "TART Nano 1", the only challenge to this one is being DISCREET when you retrieve and sign the log. The coordinates are average of three readings, should get you close enough -- no need to climb the fence or go near the RR tracks. Read about the planet Uranus, then look on the back of the sign's green post. The container may be a magnetic keycase or a magnetic nano or some other kind of container, depending on how the weather beats it up. In any case, it should be obvious when you see it. And if you haven't yet visited "TART Nano 1 Take a Load Off", go west about half a mile. The planets were designed and made by a high school science teacher. Mr. David Kirby mainly teaches honors physics. Our youngest cacher had him in 11th grade in the 2010-2011 school year. They were doing a section on the planets and he told the class about how he made the planets on the TART trails. He had said that when he first had the idea it had sounded like a bunch of work to call all the right people to make it happen. A few days later there was an article in the local paper about a teacher who was going to be doing planets along the TART trails. He then realized he had to do it. He had to calculate the distances and sizes. He realized that he couldn’t make the size of the planets to scale because then you wouldn’t be able to see the planets compared to the size of the sun. He had them made all around the same size. He found someone who would make the rings for a couple of the planets and the rays of the sun. At first he said he really tried to paint them the right colors and took a lot of time with that. He said that now he does try to keep them more or less the right color but he doesn’t take quite the same amount of time as he did when he first made them. He also replaces the signs when they need it.
