Geocache Description:

The Brown Teddies adopted this cache in July 2019 to keep it going in memory of its original CO Harry Ashcroft.

A visit to this delightful small park in the Edwardian resort of Grange over Sands

Grange over Sands was developed around 1800, shortly after the railway was built, as a holiday resort and spa for Lancashire business people. Prior to this Grange was a small fishing village cut off by marshes to the north, the sands of Morecambe Bay to the East and South and the steep hill of Hampsfell to the west. As well as being a peaceful and well kept haven near to the town centre, Park Road Gardens is a popular venue for events and concerts. The bandstand was moved from the promenade because ladies were complaining that soot from the passing steam engines was damaging their clothes.

Free 1 hour parking is available on adjacent streets but please do not park on the main road.

Please be aware that when seeking the cache, there may well be lots of curious muggles about. Please don't attempt the cache during events, particularly on Sunday afternoons in the summer when Band Concerts take place. When searching for this cache, there is no need to tread on the flowerbeds or damage shrubs. It can be reached easily. The cache is a magnetic nano and contains a logbook. Please bring your own pen/pencil to sign the logbook.

This is the first cache [that Harry] set and is literally only a few yards from [his] back garden, just across the main road.
