Piece of Pie Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Audion64: This area has changed quite a bit since I first placed this and its sister cache. The area is no longer conducive to a fun caching experience due to vastly increased foot traffic and trash. Hope everyone enjoyed them.

Geocache Description:

I visited a very interesting bakery the other day. They only sold pie, 10 different varieties. I asked about whole pies but the owner said they only had 3 whole pies and they were in the back, not for sale. They only sell pie by the piece.

And boy do they have the pieces... literally MILLIONS of them. All arranged along the walls in what seemed to be totally random order. The owner assured me that they had spent considerable time arranging the pieces so they were in a never ending, non-repeating order. Well, like I said, there were millions of pieces so I'll just have to trust that he was telling the truth. I did notice they kind of cheated.... it was the same 'random' order on all four walls of the store. Talk about laziness.

On a bit of a lark I made a list of the various flavors of pie pieces that I wanted to buy. I decided to see if I could find them, in sequence, on the shelves.

It took a bit of looking but on the North wall I managed to find my specific pie order starting at the sixteen million, five hundred eighty nine thousand, five hundred seventy ninth place I looked. I told you it took a bit of looking!

Well I'll tell you what, that place makes some darn tasty pie cause wouldn't you know it the next week my wife sent me back with another list of pie pieces to buy. Even though it took me a really long time to find my pie sequence the first time, it was fun and I decided to give it another go.

This time it was on the West wall, starting in the twenty six million, two hundred ninety eight thousand, eight hundred fortieth place I looked!!! Remind me to never do THAT again. Whew.

I came back to the bakery a third time but that's another story (Easy as Cake)
