Easy as Cake Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Audion64: This area has changed quite a bit since I first placed this and its sister cache. The area is no longer conducive to a fun caching experience due to vastly increased foot traffic and trash. Hope everyone enjoyed them.

Geocache Description:

I visited my favorite bakery again today. You know, the one that only sells 10 varieties of pie and only sells by the piece. Last time I asked about whole pies the owner said they only had 3 whole pies, they were in the back and not for sale. It's a pretty unusual place. They have literally MILLIONS of pieces of pie, arranged along each wall in a seemingly totally random sequence. The owner assured me that they had spent considerable time arranging the pieces so they were in a never ending, non-repeating order. Well, like I said, there were millions of pieces so I'll just have to trust that he was telling the truth. Well they did kind of cheat, it's the same sequence on all four walls.

The wife sent me back with two lists this time, and said it took WAY too long last time I was here (Piece of Pie) so I'd better not play games this time. Buy the darn pie and get home, she said.

But I just can't resist a little fun. So this time I decided to just go thru my lists and pick my pieces out in the order I find them.

Using the first list I decided to grab pieces from the North wall.

The first piece on my list came from the 2nd slot on the wall.
The second piece was just to the left of it, in the 1st slot.
I had to look all the way in the 9th slot to find the next flavor on the list.
Then back to the 6th slot.
The next flavor was the same as what was originally in the 1st slot, but I already had that one in hand. Luckily there was one of the same flavor in the 3rd slot.
Then to the 4th slot.
And the last piece of this particular list was way over in the 15th slot, since the first one of that flavor was already missing from the 9th place.

That was a fun little exercise of the grey matter, so I decided to take my other list over to the West wall and give it a go.

I had to keep looking until I hit the 11th slot just to find the first flavor on my list.
And even further, in the 18th slot, to find another of the same flavor. Maybe this wasn't such a good game to pick after all.
I was beginning to think they didn't even sell the third flavor on my list but I finally found it, in the 32nd slot from the left.
Headed all the way back to the 1st slot for the next one on the list.
Beginning to feel like a ping pong ball, I shifted right, to the 26th slot for the next flavor.
Back in the 3rd little nook I found my penultimate pie.
And luckily, cause this was taking a bit longer than anticipated, I found the final piece of pie on my wife's lists, right next door in the 4th niche.

While this took alot less time than my last visit to the bakery, I have a feeling the wife is still going to figure out I was playing games instead of just buying pie.
