Established in 1898, Riffe was once a community filled with promise. Settlers came from as far away as Virginia, West Virginia, and Kentucky, to start a new life. The new residents found great appeal in the vegetation and hills that fill eastern Lewis County. The rich soils provided for farming that kept the community alive for so long. Most residents made farming a primary part of their lifestyles, because of the land. By the 1930s, logging had become a major industry for the entire area, including the town of Kosmos.
The logging industry had not only touched Riffe, but was even more important for the city of Kosmos. Most of the area's residents were employed at the Kosmos Timber Company, founded in the 1930s. The Kosmos Timber Company employed up to 500 people. The company maintained bunkhouses for many of its employees. Each bunkhouse generally provided eight men a place to stay.
The town of Kosmos grew steadily during its existence. Originally, Kosmos was a roadside stop for travelers, but it soon grew into a thriving town, featuring a post office, food locker plant, a café, and two general stores. By the 1950's, Kosmos was home to nearly 200 residents.
In 1968, the construction of the Mossyrock Dam flooded the only remaining particles of the communities, leaving the past behind.
To find this multi you will have to go to the above listed cords and retrieve some need info from the signs that are there.

DE = How many homes does the dam power, take the first two digits and add 13

Now that you have done the math go get the cache! NO BUSHWACKING TO THE CACHE FROM WPT 1!!!!! TAKE THE ROADS!
And as always bring a pole and go fishing while you are here. Great fishing just the other side of the dam.
