An Evening Stroll - Halfway There Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

The Red Duke: [red]If you need the clues from the missing caches, A=8, B=0 and C=3.

Sadly, I think this set of caches (my first) has come to the end of it's life. I will be archiving the rest of the series at the end of August.

Hopefully I will find time later in the year to set out a much improved trail. Until then.......

Geocache Description:

Health advisors suggest that we should all do a brisk walk (enoughto get us slightly breathless) of 30 minutes duration, 5 times a week. This series is my version of that walk. Not just for health reasons, but also to keep my fitness levels up (especially in the off season) for my fellwalking.

This is a series of 6 geocaches taking you on a circular route of Clapham Common and the fringes of Brickhill. The first 5 caches contain information needed to find the 6th cache.

We recommend that you search in the following order:-

It Begins
Stride on
Halfway There (This one)
It's All Downhill From Here
At Last. A Proper Container!
The Prize

As you walk from "Stride On" to "Halfway There" you leave the pitched path and cross a field by a footpath which can be muddy after rain. It's quite interesting to see how the scenery changes according to the time of year. From the spring into summer this is a hayfield and the grass is allowed to grow long. After the hay has been harvested, cattle are usually allowed to graze the field until the weather turns cold and they are taken inside.

If you bring your dogs with you, please keep them on a lead near any livestock. Not too far away from here, in 2008, a farmer shot a dog which was chasing farm animals.

After the field and approaching "Halfway There" you arrive at the back of Manton Road industrial estate and the Aircraft Research Associations Transonic Wind Tunnel. The Transonic Wind Tunnel (TWT) is ARA’s primary test facility. It is used to test aircraft models at speeds from Mach 0.2 to 1.4. A wide range of models and test types can be accommodated.

The recommended parking and start for the walk is at N 52° 09.240 W 000° 27.908. There is a pub and a cafe at N 52° 09.359 W 000° 27.809.

You are looking for a 35mm film can. Cache contains logbook, pencil, and clue C.
