Geocache Description:

P&G

Just recently I looked at the calendar and realized that summer is not even officially here yet and I also noticed that all of Mother Nature’s unpleasant elements are definitely out in full force. They include and are by no means limited to the following and in no particular order, snakes, ticks, spiders, mosquitoes, poison plants, bees, wasps, chiggers, humidity and of course scorching sun. Anybody that has done even a moderate amount of caching has no doubt encountered some or maybe even all of these surprises that Mother Nature provides. I know that we have. Just to share a few of our stories so far this spring. CockerKidd has fondled a copperhead on a cool morning along the ATT. Blinky7 has treated a spider bite(s) on her neck, chiggers on her legs and she has also gone through an entire tube of aveeno cream trying to keep an ivy rash under control. Me, well I have seen more snakes this spring than I have seen in 5 years or more and I have lost count on the ticks that I have plucked off. Oh, and did I mention it’s just May. Kinda makes you wonder why we enjoy this so much.

This series is designed to give you a chance to maybe get a smiley with only a limited chance of encountering one of the above mentioned entities during the summer months. But this should not discourage you from getting out into nature on the days that you are better prepared for the adventure. You should be able to make the grab while on the way to a meeting or the grocery store without showing up looking (and smelling) like you just did a 10 mile hike on the AT. You won’t even have to pre-marinate your limbs in something that smells like Deet! You can leave your stick in the car. Just pull up and make the quick P & G. The intent is to keep them simple but a thoughtful, possibly challenging and creative quick grab. The difficulty may change but the terrain will always be a 1.5 or less.

Feel free to note your own “How Mother Nature got me” story in your log. We somehow manage to continue to add to ours on a regular basis. We love the journey!

***Disclaimer*** There is always a chance that regardless of where you are you may encounter some and/or all of the following: snakes, ticks, spiders, mosquitoes, poison plants, bees, wasps, chiggers, humidity and of course scorching sun. Please plan accordingly.

As always enjoy the hunt!

Hint: If your GPSr is bouncing around when you arrive at the GZ and you have several different directions you can go for the hunt. Remember, it is probably NOT going to be the bushwhack option.

Congratulations to Greyt Joy for the FTF!
