Geocache Description:

Grommits Grand Day Out.

 Welcome to 1GROMMIT'S 1st series of caches, which consists of 25 traditional caches, and a bonus final in a figure of eight loop.

They are set around the lovely village of Balderstone, and the total distance is around 6.5 miles, with only a few hundred yards of road work. I would allow around 4 hours to complete the series, as there are both easy and tricky finds. They do not need to be done in any particular order, but I have provided two sets of suggested parking, and the recommended route is clockwise. Please be aware that these are country lanes, which are used by tractors and other farm machinery, so please park carefully and make sure there is space for vehicles to pass.

The village of Balderstone is mainly a farming community, although a lot of the smaller farms have now been converted into housing. There is also a lovely Church, and small junior school.

The Co-ords for the final Bonus cache are North AB CD.EFG, West H IJ.KLM

In each cache there is a laminated clue card, and I have doubled them up in case any caches go missing, so you will find two sets of A=n, B=n etc...

The paths can become muddy after rain, so please wear appropriate footwear. The majority of paths are NOT pushchair or wheelchair friendly.

This cache could be done as a drive-by, but I’d prefer you walked it. Footpath follows the un-surfaced farm track.
