Geocache Description:

This cache is part of the Schuylkill 100 Year Two Cache Event, where One Hundred (100) New Caches were placed throughout Schuylkill County and launched for this event. **Bring a pen or pencil.**

This cache is placed at the entrance to MY TOWN. Although I was not born here, I have called Tremont my home since 1987. The name Tremont is French for the Three Mountains that surround the town: Bear Mountain, Big Lick Mountain and the Sharp Mountain. This was the town that my father was born and raised in. He moved out in 1960, when I came into the world. He and my mom moved to Donaldson where he still lives today. Tremont has a long history of events related to the coal industry, the Old National Hotel and other events. This cache is only about 2 blocked from my residence. At the old school building on Pine Street, now District Magistrates office, Police Station and Library, you can see a plaque of one of Tremont own that was a major league baseball player with the St. Louis Cardinals.
This cache should be a quick cache and dash.
