Geocache Description:

Date - 06/21/09
Time - 8:00am
Location - The Posted Coordinates
Activity - Geocaching Fishing Tournament

The posted coordinates will be the launching/meeting point for a float trip down Finley Creek.
The trip will conclude at Finley River Park in Ozark, with a total float distance of approximately 6.2 miles.
We will also be having a fishing tournament that will have only ONE prize. That prize will be a 1 year premium membership to Geocaching.com.
Should you already have a premium account then it will be renewed for an additional year past your current expiration date.
Below is how this event will work.

First off you do not have to compete in the fishing tournament to attend this event. Also the speed of this float will be slower due to the fishing, so if you don't plan on competing you may find yourself having to slow down and wait at times for others to catch up.
You will also need to bring along your own canoe, kayak, or whatever you plan to float in and your own fishing supplies.

Once we meet at the posted coords we will at that time consider our options for vehicles to drop off at the take-out in Ozark.
We should also plan on a "bring your own" hot dog roast on a gravel bar around the noon hour too.

Now for the fishing tournament rules:

I don't want to make this impossible for anyone to win, but I am making it very tough.
The largest Bass I have ever seen caught in this river was caught by Connie of SterlingConnie. It was 16.5" in length. With that being said I have decided to set the rules in the following manner:

You must catch a Bass (Smallmouth, Kentucky, Largemouth) that is AT LEAST 16.5" in length to win. Should there be 2 or more that tie, then we will flip a coin or draw straws to choose the winner.
I will have the offical measuring device to confirm your fishes length, so you may not want to travel too far away from my area.
Also this is strictly an ARTIFICIAL BAIT only tournament. NO LIVE BAIT or PREVIOUSLY LIVE BAIT.
Since these are my rules I have decided that I can compete too.
Should I be the winner, then it'll save me $30.00.

I plan on using the recently added feature "Give a Gift Membership" to Geocaching.com to make the payout to anyone that wins.

Should the creek be in an unsafe condition for floating due to recent rainfall or the day of the event the weather is not fit for floating, then the event will be moved to a future date.
