Geocache Description:

The Brown Teddies adopted this cache in July 2019 to keep it going in memory of its original CO Harry Ashcroft.

A forgotten nature reserve near the centre of Grange over Sands

This small nature reserve was bequeathed to the local council 20 years ago. It would make a prime building plot but so far developers have been thwarted by conditions of the bequest. Several attempts have been made to tidy the area up but these now appear to have been abandoned. The result is a superb 'wild' area where roe deer, birds and other wildlife breed and enjoy an undisturbed haven in an urban area. There is no need to thrash around in the undergrowth. Just follow the paths.
