Nuptse is a majestic peak in the Nepali Himalayas and much
higher than the Beltway 8 overpass at I-45...by over 25,700 feet.
Although Nuptse is not one of the more predominant peaks in the
Khumbu valley of Nepal, it is crowned with 7 smaller peaks along
its ridgeline and was first summited in 1961 by Dennis Davis and
Sherpa Tashi. The peak is often overlooked as Lhotse and Everest
are close neighbors, however Nuptse can offer some challenging
climbs especially up the South Pillar.
Appropriate Houston Training regimen: Hike up and down
the Beltway 8 overpass on your toes 25 times daily with an 80 lb
pack.
