Matauwhi Bay is a popular anchorage & roadstead, dominated by boats on swing moorings.

Russell Boating Club is full of character, and there are bound to be some sea gypsies or perhaps even a pirate or two lurking about...
Don't worry, most are friendly and you might even find one happy to sign you in as a guest so that you may enjoy some grog, or a meal on a Wednesday, Friday or Sunday evening
The Coords should take you out to sea;(accuracy/confirmation of these would be appreciated!) turn around & face the Guardian.

It is 130 meters on bearing of 300° to GZ, though you must be Very special if you can manage it in a straight line! (walk on water or over hot hangi coals?!)
arrgh! All bearings given are magnetic An average pirate must hobble approximately 37 paces West, 8 paces bearing 330°, 45 paces bearing 260°, 105 paces bearing 310°, and finally 10 stumbles towards 300°
