At 3762 feet on top of a bluff at the West end of Dewdrop Range. Where the road turns left to Fredericks, keep on going to the right. Rough road more suited to a trail bike than to a Toyota Yaris!...
Reset the car odometer to zero at the railroad crossing by Tranquille. When you reach 14km, take the right fork. I drove up another 1.1 km until the road proved too bad for Yaris. (Very hard to turn around!) Proceeded on foot until stacked rocks, there turned left and up! (There might be an easier way, let me know!) Many agate fragments on the talus slope.
When you reach the top, a marker will grab your attention... The ammo box is nearby under some flat rocks to protect it from the direct sun. I think if you have the guts to make it to the spot you deserve to take it easy without having to hunt!
Great view to the West towards Savona.
I forgot to include a valuable FTF, you will have to be happy with bragging rights! And the knowledge that you belong to an elite of adventurous fellows who enjoy a road less travelled!
