Geocache Description:

Located at the entrance to Rotary Park in Penetanguishene, Ontario. Just off the trail in a grassy park area with a statue and a fountain.

Visit the statue of Kitchikewana, a giant of a man. According to one indigenous legend this giant is responsible for the creation of the local lakes as well as the 30,000 islands in one fell swoop. Having fallen in love with a beautiful maiden he found that his love was unrequited. Heartbroken, he reached down and gouged his fingers into the earth, thus forming the harbours and, casting the earth outwards, formed the 30,000 islands. He then layed himself down and died of a broken heart and his tomb can still be seen when looking at Giant's Tomb Island. The cache has room for a long an one or two small tradables, bring a writing utensil. Highly visible location, so watch for muggles.
