A lovely park not far from where I live. I only noticed it the other day. The cache is easily accessable from the path, no need for any bushwacking. Parking available in any of the surrounding roads. Like most London parks, open from 8am till dusk.
The park is considered to be one fo the most attractive in the borough with its fine water features and formal gardens. It also boasts a water play feature, two tennis courst and a putting green.
Sydenham Wells Park takes its name from the medicinal springs, which were discovered in Sydenham in the mid-seventeenth century, and for a time made the village popular as a spa resort. Several of the 12 former wells lie within the grounds of the park, and the springs are still active today. The park was officially opened to the public in 1901.
