The Ache of Time Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Altaire: Logs indicate cache is in a bad way. I have no wish for cachers to find just a broken container with no log book. Hence archiving it until it can be either retrieved or replaced with a new cache. God knows when that will be given the current Covid situation.

Geocache Description:

This cache is set near a well known lookout (Counts Point) on Section 8 of the Larapinta Trail. It has quite extensive views. This section of the trail can be completed as a day walk between Serpentine Gorge and Serpentine Chalet or as an in/out walk from either of those track heads. Or as part of a longer walk along the Larapinta. Whichever access you choose you must be equipped and prepared for a relatively hard walk. As with all walks in this area, the hotter it gets the harder it gets. Note that there is normally no water available apart from the water tanks at the track heads. We placed this cache on the 11th day of our Larapinta trail walk.

Note on cache location – if you make the effort to go here we want you to find it!

The cache is a 1lt systema container. It is well hidden in a rock alcove with rocks in front of it which have to be moved to locate the cache. This is primarily to protect the container from the harsh environment. At GZ have your back to the two small native pine trees. The cache is located under rocks just to the left of a Spinifex bush. Refer to the spoiler photos for further assistance.

Finally a BIG thank you to the Alice Springs cachers 2 Lost Souls for kindly offering to maintain this cache.
