Geocache Description:


This cache is set at the top of Mt Sonder which is the final stage of the Larapinta Trail. It can however be reached as a part or whole day trip from the Redbank Gorge track head. It involves an ascent in the order of 700m and a round trip of about 16km. Duration depends on you, however expect to take about 5 to 8 hours or so. Being part of the Larapinta trail there are markers all the way to the top. The track varies from good to vague. The views along the ascent and from the top are amongst the best in the area. At the top there is a cairn with a visitors book.

Note on cache location – if you make the effort to go here we want you to find it!

The cache is a 1lt systema container. It is well hidden in a rock alcove with rocks in front of it which have to be moved to locate the cache. This is primarily to protect the container from the harsh environment. It is located a short distance from the cairn. Refer to the spoiler photos for further assistance.
